This bid is to be awarded as one contract with a 200 day consecutive calendar day construction schedule.

A complete set of plans, specifications, and bidding documents may be obtained from the City Engineer, 411 West Jackson Street, P. O. Box 1540, Thomasville, Georgia 31799, upon payment of $75. Extra sets of specifications and bidding documents may be obtained upon payment of $25 per set. Extra sets of plans may be obtained upon payment of $50 per set. No refunds will be made.

It should be noted that this is a Federal funded project and Department of Labor Standards and Requirements must be satisfied for this work.

Bids must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond in the amount of not less than ten (10) percent of the Bid, as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will within ten (10) days after written notice having been given of such award, enter into a written contract with the City of Thomasville, Georgia, in accordance with the accepted proposal. Bids must be sealed and plainly marked "Bid for 2009 Community Development Block Grant Street Improvements Project, August 31, 2010”, and must be delivered before the time specified. Bids shall be made on the forms included in a Specification Book and submitted without removal.

Bids must also be accompanied by a letter from Company’s Insurance Provider stating that they have read and understand the insurance requirements stated on Pages SGC3 and SGC-4 of the contract specifications document. Insurance provider must also state that they can provide an insurance certificate in a timely manner that meets these same requirements.

The majority of the work to be done for this project is paving and does not require a licensed utility contractor to submit a bid. However, there may be portions of the project that by law requires a licensed utility contractor.

No Bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the request of bids for a period of sixty (60) days.

Separate Payment and Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract will be required.
