NON-PARTISAN ELECTION
SUMTER COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION
DISTRICT 2

This is notice of a call for a special non-partisan election to fill the vacancy in District 2 of the Sumter County Board of Education for the unexpired term created by the resignation of Mark Waddell, who was duly elected for a four-year term beginning January 1, 2009, and ending December 31, 2012.

The special non-partisan election to elect a member of the Sumter County Board of Education shall be held at the General Election on November 2, 2010, and the person elected shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term of the said Mark Waddell.

The polls will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. on November 2, 2010.

A run-off election, if necessary, will be held on November 23, 2010.

Candidates may qualify with Sherry Ratliff, Election Superintendent, in the Office of the Sumter County Election Superintendent at the Sumter County Courthouse, Americus, Georgia, beginning on August 2, 2010, at 8:30 a.m. and concluding on August 6, 2010, at 12:00 noon.

The qualifying fee is $72.00.

The last day to register to vote in the special non-partisan election to be held on November 2, 2010, is October 4, 2010.
